Hello Everyone...

I just joined SI after spending the last couple of weeks reading
the hundreds and hundreds of great posts on this thread (not including
ROCKHEAD...:) Thanks to all of the core posters for good info. and lots of laughs...

I can't hold a candle to most of you "pros" when it comes to detailed
analysis so I won't be a frequent poster... but based on my two yr.s of detailed study of IOMEGA and the 6000 sh.s that I'm long I would like to take this one opportunity to put my .02 in...

- I think IOMEGA will have a great Q4 but will lowball the numbers in keeping with their "steady growth" profile "strategy", "philosophy", and to not raise expectations for '98 Q1 too high... My guess is .17 eps...

- I don't think the stock will get a big boost from beating estimates. I do expect more than 1/8 though maybe a buck and change...

- Barring a general market meltdown I expect IOMEGA to be back up to recent highs ($17)within the next 3 months where it will spend some time before moving on up leading into 98 Q1 results.

- I think ZIP is fast reaching "critical mass" and the number sold will only be limited by production capacity... I don't expect them to lower prices until production exceeds demand...

- With ZIP booming, JAZ and DITTO doing well and BUZ and CLIK! inth pipeline, production costs in Malaysia plummeting... I can't see how the next couple of years can be anything but HUGE for IOMEGA.

- I live in a fairly remote part of the world (Mendoza, Argentina) but find it very encouraging to see ZIP drives in all of the computer stores and selling "Muy Bueno" according to Sales Mgr.s I've spoken to... BTW I have yet to see any SYQUEST products or LS-100's...

Again... all of the above is merely IMHO... nothing technical or Scientific just a lot of good common sense with a dash of hope...:)

Thanks again to everyone for the great infomation...

Ciao

J.D. Summers

PS: I promise never to respond to any of ROCKHEAD's nonsense...

What happen to the 49er's... ???
