Only CNN history. Economics history books will record the facts, which is that President's have some power, but not the 100% power that most Americans think. There are far bigger forces, including the Fed and Congress that have the majority of the power to sway the economy. One thing we know is that fettering companies with regulations typically will slow them down. Unfettering them will speed them up, and unleash a lot of externalities. Obama introduced many very restrictive regulations on companies. Some good, some bad. Trump is removing every regulation he can think of. This is good for the economy and companies in the short run, but it will unleash massive externalities that have big costs to the fairness of our economy and to our environment. So your giving credit to Obama is really beyond naive. It veers into willful blindness.
