Greystone: I was not trying nor did I have any dark motives about race hatred. I simply believe that every Father has a desire that his sons and daughters marry within the confines of race and religion because people of the same mind and disposition and faith have a much better chance of making the marriage and the children more successful in life. Esau went against his Family's wishes and I'm sure he suffered much for his bad choices.
Genesis 26: "34 And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: 35 Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.
Esau was foolish in marrying two wives together, and still more in marrying Canaanites, strangers to the blessing of Abraham, and subject to the curse of Noah. It grieved his parents that he married without their advice and consent. It grieved them that he married among those who had no religion. Children have little reason to expect God's blessing who do that which is a grief of mind to good parents.
Genesis 28: "6 When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan; 7 And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram; 8 And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father; 9 Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.
It saddens me that you came on this thread and decided to cause as much grief as possible when you did not know me or understand what I was talking in regard to. I also resent the sttement you made saying that I was stupid. It does not promote Christian love and I suspect that you are only trying to start trouble. I would appreciate it if you didn't remark about me in the future. James |
