Threatening witnesses, trying to influence witnesses, writing other witnesses' statements, spreading lies about witnesses, falsifying evidence, trying to bribe witnesses or investigators with money or job offers...all can be CRIMES. Not "fighting back." Hate to state the obvious, but, former public defender here, if you're being investigated by the feds for major crimes and you "fight back against it" by trying to get those investigating you fired/arrested, lying to them, hiding evidence, falsely accusing others... it's a CRIME.
