Some guy on AOL just posted two rumors for all to ponder. The first one will make qdog squirm---some kind of deal with MSFT. The other involved a takeover by AT&T--sounds goofy since T has a large TDMA system, but not goofy in that new CEO hails from Hughes and they,I am sure, look upon Globalstar with envy. Mr. Armstrong just might want to get involved with mobile sat phone systems now. The other interesting comment was that T would not manufacture cell handsets, but would most want the WLL business as a way of entering the local telephone service business and not having to go through RBOCs( I had heard that before--isn't there a test going on somewhere using CDMA for that?) Since Teleglobe deal though, seems a bit farfetched to do another deal right away. So, it is likely that both are total BS!
