I don't think so. I think rates are going to continue to go up, not just because the Fed is hiking rates, but because the bond vigilantes are stirring and market forces are pushing them higher. I think the next stock market shock will emanate from some crisis in China, which ripples out to the rest of the world. It will be another Asian Contagion, which causes a stock market correction in the US. That's my guess, but really, who knows? I'm already positioned for it in my portfolio, though. Holding lots of cash and minimizing my stock allocation.
