He understands that one size fits all deals like TPP ultimately require a massive subsidy from the US and are bad for us. He understands that illegal immigration is out of control in this country and we need common sense solutions like expanding DACA, but increasing border security, while moving to a meritocracy based immigration system and limiting immigration from countries where massive amounts of terrorists are known to operate. He understands that by unleashing businesses through tax reform and lowering regulatory hurdles, we can also unleash the animal spirits of capitalism, which will drive prosperity. He understands that the middle class was left behind by the last administration and by catering to them he built a powerful base of support for his Presidency. So Trump is no dummy, although he certainly knows how to rub everyone the wrong way.

Trump definitely has the ability of multidimensional thinking, which shows again and again.
