Following is a gem of a game which you'll want to replay on a board to see its incredible magic. It's between Paul Morphy and the Duke of Brunswick in 1858. Morphy was an incredible positional player. He never attacked you outright&#151instead he had an uncanny ability of making you move your pieces where he wanted you to put them. All the time you think you're beating him until he puts you in checkmate. You're getting screwed and saying, "Thank you sir, may I have another."

In this game, he hands over his Queen, both Knights, a Bishop, and a Rook. You think you're beating him, but he's making you beat yourself. He only played in one tournament and died at an early age (not sure, but I think it was around 26. I could be wrong). Morphy is White:

This game is one of several found in the Chessmaster series by Mindscape. It is the single best chess program I've ever seen on the market. It also teaches you a variety of the classic openings such as the Philidor's Defense used in the above game.
