Melissa-- I think you raised the right questions... and I haven't seen them answered to my satisfaction. My technical understanding is limited, but what the heck. The NLV box (receiving all the attention) is just an upgraded cable box. It's an important step forward in that will allow the cable companies to provide a variety of new services. The services MAY INCLUDE @Home, but the box is not necessary to bring @Home to the consumer. What I suspect the new box will be able to do is provide some forms of internet access (cheap, but limited). Stuff like E-mail, or WebTV. Also the box will be a platform for new applications that haven't been imagined yet (this would be the Java software, I think). Maybe stuff like electronic fingerpainting or graphics programs for home videos? I'm open for feedback, Paul
