I wouldn't want to lug around a bagful of diskettes to a party or vacation. Also, writing to diskettes is several magnitudes slower than writing to flash. It probably takes forever before the diskette-using-camera is ready to shoot again. What's the big deal about slow downloads anyway? You can always start the download and come back later. With diskettes, you can't do that. You would have to stay to keep switching diskettes.
