Official description of Quebec and GSLR's stance on Wildlife Reserves
(Quebec) "The network of wildlife reserves spans over vast forests and wilderness areas, where outdoor adventures involving local wildlife are set against a lush natural backdrop. Each reserve offers activities and services promoting the preservation of nature-related traditions, such as hunting and fishing. You can also explore the reserves on foot or by rowboat, canoe or kayak, or on snowshoes or skis."
(GSLR urban plan)
There are the following wildlife habitats:
Four areas of concentration of deer (Deer): (editors note: others not listed)
"These are wildlife habitats that impose certain restrictions on the use of around to protect them." (editors note: "Certain restrictions" include heavy industry, but not hunting in season)
"It is thought that the fragmentation of the territory for vacation purposes and the addition of new roads should be restricted, that the lasting integrity of the mixed forest should be preserved, and that the exploitation of the forest will have to be done in cohabitation with the protection of the habitats and their exploitation for hunting and fishing.
So naturally, there is no such thing as being 'exempted' from an area where there is a recognized concentration of deer. I'm honestly dismayed at people trying to argue "well if you're allowed to hunt there for 2 weeks of the year, it's obviously not a protected area from development"
The thing with The Chief and others is that this information has been available since 2015. So either they purposely ignored it (which means they're delusional/dishonest), weren't aware of it (which means they didn't do basic due diligence, likely due to hubris), or misunderstood it (which means they're dumb) |
