Glenn,
Yoiu write:
Summary: In my opinion, within 12-24 months this company will be history. No product,
no customers, no useful technology, no sales, no earnings, a disaster at best. But watch what
happens as we near the COMDEX show in November.....
Let me address each issue:
No product: Not true. The company has had several products which have been thought promising enough by OEMs to associate with their products. These products have failed, but AERN has continued to improve product and now has a prototype with which they will be trying again. To their credit, their product has shown enough promise and enough improvement that the company is still around and we are all still on this board.
No customers: Again, I invoke the OEMs. There have been enough OEMs interested in this, for example two small companies called Toshiba and Hewlett Packard, that the company has changed its strategy to specifically target OEMs as its primary customers(it usded to try to sell these things mostly through retail). A big announcement I am waiting for is whcih and how many OEMs will sign an agreement with AERN which will lead to the commercial introduction of AERN's prototype.
No useful technology: Here, you are surely being a little disingenuous. It seems that in one post you are touting your company, which is trying to promote disposable Zn-Air batteries, and in another post you are denigrating AERn, which is trying to commercialize rechargeable Zn-Air batteries. The underlysing technology, Zn-Air, is the same, and is the fundamental reason why most of us are reading this board. This technology is what makes it possible to envision a laptop that lasts 8-10 hours per charge instead of 2-3.
No sales, no earnings: Here, you are right on. This is what makes this company gamble and wht makes for such lively debate.
A disaster at best: No!!!!! at best, this is a company that can generate an incredible return for its investors. At worst, it will disappear in the next 24 months. Of course, i am betting that they will generate incredible returns for me. I think that AERN has a little more time this year to demonstrate that they can sell this technology to the OEMs, who are very important partners in this endeavor.
Apart from these minor disagreements, I think we are generally of the same mind. I also think that Comdex will be something to see.
Good luck to all,
Ariel
PS: there seems to be a little grudge developing between a couple of the posters on this board.I hope you guys kiss and make up before it turns mean. |
