Does Intel enjoy any economies of scale for its CPU's vs. the other competing chips from DEC, SUN et al? If Intel is able to sell their chips for substantially less and make it up on volume, would this make Sun and the others more vulnerable? Could it be that HP saw that coming and started working with Intel on their next chip to avoid getting "cut off at the pass"? Does any of this make any sense, technically? HL
