Re: "their is no compelling reason to select DEC UNIX on Alpha over DEC UNIX on IA-64" Projected performance figures for first release Merced are in the range of currently shipping Alpha's and will be far below Late 99/Early 00 Alpha's, that is if Merced is even shipping then. Merced is still vapourware and will be for another 18 months to 2 years minimum. Robin
