A Shocking Image Democrats May See Again on Judgment Day

by peterheck

This is the definition of bad optics.

Following the Senate’s disgraceful vote last Monday to deny human rights to small children deemed inconvenient by their parents, leading Democrats were seen high-fiving one another on the floor.

Specifically, Senate Minority Leader Democrat Chuck Schumer, fresh off his humiliating attempt to shut down the government to advocate for rights and benefits for illegal immigrants, slapped some skin with North Dakota Democrat Senator Heidi Heitkamp. After the high-five, the two defenders of legal child dismemberment actually clasped hands in victory with a smiling Democrat Senator Cory Booker looking on approvingly.

Anyone still languishing under the painfully inaccurate belief that Democrat Party leaders aren’t “pro-abortion” should take note. This public rejoicing is not the conduct of individuals who see abortion as a painful necessity or a last resort. This is the behavior of people who champion the act as an embodiment of female empowerment, emancipation, and political clout. This is the behavior of those who believe there is something morally righteous about the act of having your unborn baby dismembered.

These are not good people.

Perhaps they were at one point. Perhaps deep in their hearts, under the crusty shell of partisanship that now controls them, they still possess a basic humanity and empathy for the smallest, most defenseless among us. Perhaps they merely need to be liberated by electoral defeat from their perceived obligation to donors, party leaders, and lobbyists.

We can certainly hope for that, and pray for all those who not only cast votes in defense of child killing, but those who heinously high-five each other after a vote ensuring more human babies will writhe in pain as they futilely attempt to escape the abortionist’s instruments of death.

Because far more than the temporal concern of that celebratory image appearing in campaign literature to condemn their re-election prospects, is the eternal concern of it appearing before them one day in the Courtroom of eternal justice.

Pray for the children, but also pray for those who know not what they do.
