My roadtrip from the Seattle area with my long time friend Fred (since 4th grade) to Tucson, Arizona in my new Tesla Model S. Fred retired from the City of Seattle responsible for all traffic signal engineering for the city. Before that he took care of electronics on Nuke subs for the U.S. Navy

We left early in the morning Wednesday January 24th.

Yours truly with the new car At Mt. Shasta city just off I-5 in Best Western Plus. Just behind Fred taking the picture Superchargers in their parking lot. Love those free electrons!

Stayed in Sacramento the first night.

Drove to Tucson the next day getting in late Thursday evening the 25th to Mike's house. A good high school buddy who retired to Tucson a few years ago.

Mike and the car. Very close to Tucson International airport

Stopped at El Monte airport for a couple hours on the way north. Gary in middle of picture (a long term friend and fellow EE from WSU days with his Mooney 231, Fred to the right in the picture

Gary by the way invented the very first portable handheld GPS receiver in the world in 1988 for Magellan, he was their CTO.

All in all a fun trip with the Tesla. 3600 miles driven in 6 days. Only two days spent in Tucson.

Miss the nice 70 degree weather in Tucson but wouldn't want to be there in the Summer!

If we had done the trip in Fred's Audi SUV gas would have totaled about $417.
