There is another reality there with movies. There was a complete portrayal of a Christian missionary taken right from the book in The Ghost and the Darkness. It may be one of the most exciting movies I have ever seen and I was overly impressed with it.
IT BOMBED. Came and went in a flash. Why I thought. Why? Such an unforgettable movie.
Then I realized that the Christian character was portrayed in exact character of a spirit filled medical missionary. He was kind, very witty and always in a good mood, and always preaching in a sweet and wonderful way. Reminded me of every friend I had in the Jesus Freak movement and I was amazed at it. Absolutely amazed.
Is it not also amazing that two magnificent actors, Van Kilmer and Michael Douglas at his absolute best, did an exceptional job of recreating an event that happened in Africa at the end of the l8th century, and apparently not a reviewer in the country had anything good to say about it. And all of the same reviewers will rave about movies involving perversion and homosexuality every time. Especially Siskel and Ebert, who more each year become cheerleaders for perversion on film.
It is my feeling that this movie was damned because it violated the laws of the ruling sentiment in America--that all things of the true God will be denigrated or ignored. And if people in Hollywood bypass that unwritten law, as in allowing the Chrisitian--very Christian-- the character in Ghost and Darkness (what the natives ended up naming two rogue lions) to be portrayed as the author wrote him, as he truly was, that the people involved with not changing this character to a loathsome hypocrite and deviate of some kind, will be punished in the pocketbook by the process which presents movies to the public.
I know there is a conspiracy. Might even know as much about it as Emile. Unfortunately it now is so large and all-encompassing, and the network involving evil persons in every country and of every creed at this point, it is simply a matter of time. How else do you think satan will be able to get every single person in the world to willingly worship him up front? |
