That's the good thing about the free market but trust me we have a long way to go to get back to where we once were. Zero and his demons did a number on the free market and the insurance companies that sucked up to him didn't help but they did it to survive. "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" I guess.

Just an example, in 1990 I graduated from college and had to buy a individual policy. I bought a $2500 deductible 100% co-insurance plan. Which meant I would pay the first $2500 out of pocket and then the insurance company would pay 100% of the bill from there. Now $2500 was a lot of money back then but it was a lot less than a $100,000 medical bill. Also, It took awhile to find a job that paid well but I made it just fine.

My premium was $30/month. What a deal. People are just so ignorant to what the free market can provide. They get so wrapped up around the costs and "want the government to do something about it" Well, when the Government does something about it, it costs us a lot for the fix.

One day I hope we learn.

Nice to hear your situation is working out for your daughter.
