ALPNET Announces Agreement with Leading Multinational Corporation

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- ALPNET, Inc. (Nasdaq: AILP - news), the international translation and
localization services company, today announced a service contract worth over $1 million.

ALPNET Germany has secured a large order for the translation of 65 user manuals from English into 11 European languages.
The total order value is approximately $1.1 Million (2,000,000 DM) with an expected completion date of June 1998. The first
batch of 35 manuals will be completed by the end of February.

Commenting on the partnership with ALPNET, a division manager of this multinational company stated that, ''We are happy
to work with ALPNET as our partner for the multilingual publishing of our product documentation. We have chosen ALPNET
for this large project because of the high quality service and the fact that ALPNET is ISO 9002 certified. We must have our
documentation available in multiple languages in a relatively short time period and ALPNET was able to meet our capacity
needs.''

Mr. Francois Massion, General Manager of ALPNET Germany said, ''We have been working with this multinational for five
years and have invested a lot of effort to provide an excellent service and to develop a long-term relationship with this
important client. We are proud to see this commitment honored and to receive this new project.''

approximately 30% in 1997 compared to 1996 and a similar growth rate is expected in 1998. Clients of ALPNET Germany
