File down loading is one of the larger pains in digital photography. It is also my impression that Smart Media does not have an equivalent PC card adapter. Fuji (uses smart media) currently has promised adapter they claim will allow downloading via the diskette drive. Don't ask me how this is going to work, I know that there are portable CD (music) adapters that look like a cassettes and allow CD's to be played on your car tape player (this is relatively easy with analog tape head). A diskette adapter (if in fact technically feasible) would have a much wider market appeal than PC card adapter since it would be present on all computers not just portables.
