New Approaches for A New Data Age

It’s no surprise that our world will be awash in data in 2025. But what is startling is volume of data: 163 zettabytes (ZB), a ten-fold increase over what was created in 2016, according to a recent report by analyst firm IDC and sponsored by Seagate. The report also identifies other disruptive data trends reshaping the global datasphere, such as the increasing life-critical nature of data to society, the shift of data to the cloud and the surge in devices that create data without human involvement.

bit.ly

That's a yotta* NAND.

* The yottabyte is a multiple of the unit byte for digital information. The prefix yotta indicates multiplication by the eighth power of 1000 or 1024 in the International System of Units (SI), and therefore one yottabyte is one septillion (one long scale quadrillion) bytes. The unit symbol for the yottabyte is YB. 1 YB = 10008bytes ....

A single yottabyte contains one septillion, or one trillion times one trillion bytes, which is the same as one trillion terabytes. It is also a number larger than any human can comprehend.
