MOSCOW (CBS.MW) -- Russian stock prices slid sharply Monday as global investors continued to yank money from emerging markets amid Asia's snowballing financial crisis.
Over-the-counter trading was halted in the late afternoon for 30 minutes on the Russian Trading System after its benchmark blue-chip index dropped 7.5 percent from its opening level, a circuit breaker introduced after the market's free-fall in October sent the country into an economic tailspin.

The index recouped just a bit of its losses before the end of the trading day, closing down14.35 percent to 319.02. On Friday, it closed at 349.29.
