The president just appeared on TV and made a brief statement on the school shooting.

For the first time in my recollection, a politician (well,) expressed the most important point about solving this problem: There are proposed solutions (gun control) which make us FEEL like we're doing something to solve the problem. It is a serious mistake to head down that rabbit trail.

Because instead of focusing on the problem we focus on the ephemeral or worse, counterproductive, proposals.

We need to look at objectively workable solutions and pursue those and forget the good feelings.

All I hear on the news today is "Gun Control Needed Here, Quick." Which won't make one BIT of difference.

How about we focus on things that MIGHT make a difference. I don't know what the potential solutions are, but when there are 300 million guns out there, and you aren't going to make an appreciable dent in this problem with "gun control."
