Hi Rarebird, no, I'm still at 22% stocks. The correction didn't hit 15%. I think I might have originally posted my plan was to invest 20% of my cash at the 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50% correction marks, but then shortly after that I revised it to 15%, 25%, 35%, 45%, and 55% marks. The reason I did that is because I calculated where I thought the likely end game bottom would be at a 65% correction when all is said and done. So I felt my original targets were not harsh enough. Anyway, so the 11% correction didn't trigger my buy point. Still holding cash. I was very happy with the performance of my portfolio during the correct, though. I didn't lose much money at all. So that was a stress free event for me, which is what I am shooting for. I still think this thing will take awhile to play out. They are doing QT in earnest now and it will continue to build momentum in the coming months. That will put more and more pressure on yields to rise, which will make bonds an increasingly attractive alternative to stocks for all of us income oriented investors, which will put pressure on stock prices. So I think we just so the preview of a correction, not the real deal, but I believe we will see the real deal this year...most likely in 2H'18.
I bet all this volatility is good for traders like you. You must be making a ton right now. Any luck? |
