One audio and cell phone sniffing mesh network installed in Seattle on the sly a couple years ago is coming out. It had tunable (i.e. beamformable) microphones which allows Big Brother to follow a quiet conversation as it went down the street. I think it was a gift from Homeland Security (George Orwell Division).
