You make very good point about the Nazi's being forced to join and I will take note. That is a substantive difference.

But the Republican party presents one of the largest threats to our democracy in a long time. And they are acting as a monolithic force. I try to differentiate between the party itself which is operating in lock step supporting Trump and right wing policy , so they can be generalized, IMO and the rank and file.. But how should we think about people who support this party? I have always said they are a mixture of types of people, many are simply naïve innocents, that should be a truism for any normal person to realize, but we do see some trends like lack of education, low information, neurosis and criminals.

But in any event I do believe very strongly we must oppose this party with all our strength and question those who don't. They are a danger to our Republic.

So I make it a point to differentiate between the Republican party and the Republican rank and file; and the Republican party as a monolithic force for bad social policy going back a 100 years and I back it up with history. Wharf takes issue with that. He does not believe they have been a constant opposition force to making intelligent and humanitarian strides for the last 100 years. And he sees my disagreement as bigotry. I am not sure but what he believes that even now.

But I don't think I am the only one on this thread who feels the Republican party is a danger and consists of a plethora of very dangerous and destructive individuals. Or that we need to address them as a monolithic force that needs to be defeated.

The Republican party cannot find one person running for reelection that will stand up to trump and the party and that speaks volumes.

He says constantly I am a Republican (whatever word he made up) implying I am being prejudice or a bigot because of my concern about Republicans. But I do not think opposing the Republican party categorically at this point is at all being bigoted or prejudice. They are now, and have been for a 100 years, a constant force for bad policies for our people; and they are the reason we are at the bottom in almost every category of modern decency of all the western civilizations.

I do not see my position on Republicans as substantially different than the majority of people on this thread. Yet Wharf seems to see a difference so great he jabs me with it constantly.

Probably a discussion we needed to have.
