Scientists are by and large a part of academia. Universities and schools in this country are overwhelmed by very liberal people. I read recently that only 1 our of 5 teachers and professors are conservative, with the other 4 claiming to be liberal. That liberal bias creeps into scientists public discourse. I have a friend who is a PhD in biology and is a professor at the local university. Very bright person to say the least. She's also a hyper liberal and she's the one who told me that all white males are the problem with the world. So most of the time, I find her engaging and bright. But just that once, I had to shake my head to clear it of the hitleresque vision she was presenting to me.

You know who else is trained in facts and logic? Engineers, Data Scientists, Accountants, Finance workers, and business people. The difference is these people tend to be a bit more conservative. Does that make them evil or wrong? Nope. Just different opinions on how to solve problems.

The problem is not that we don't have smart people. We have plenty of smart people who are utterly ignorant of history and who are inexperienced in economics and in how prosperity actually works. We have people who have not studied economic history in depth enough to understand that capitalism supports freedom and vice versa, and that socialism and communism are inherently flawed in that they demand a curtailment of freedom, forcibly most of the time. Conservatives used to have a party called the GOP that represented them and held the values of capitalism, fiscal restraint, and liberty. Those days are gone. The GOP spends wildly on the oligarchies and the military industrial complex, and they pass every more tyrannical laws that violate our Constitution, like the FISA Laws and the any but Patriot Act. The Democrats are now full on socialist and are hell bent on rolling back free speech, making drugs legal, and putting as many people on welfare as possible. Both parties are totally worthless now. So where does it lead? First Socialism and then Communism and Dictatorship on top of it.

I've seen countries turn socialist before. I've seen it in many Latin American countries and the country of my father's birth. First it starts with a cultural revolution, which typically kills the meritocracy. That is happening right now in the US, where Identity Politics now supersedes performance metrics. Then it continues by banning speech and limiting public discourse on certain critical topics. That too is ongoing. Berkeley is a great example. Then they start to divide one group against another and feed them lines of attack, include the encouragement of hysteria and violence to counter the perceived threat of one against another, the teaching to minorities how to spot micro-aggressions and telling them that these are willful efforts to subjugate them. The extolling of students who yell obscenities at Professors, instead of teaching these students to respect those in authority and to learn civil discourse using logic, not unbridled passion. These abuses are happening with increasing frequency. Identity politics and pointing to the White Man as the evil that must be eradicated is another example. Hyper triangulation and creating victim mentality groups is another, because when it's ok to be a victim, then it is ok to take revenge against your perceived aggressor.

Eventually, as the country sinks into the morass of turmoil, the shouting and posturing ends in increasing bouts of violence, that eventually becomes a revolution. The other side, maybe conservatives, white men, and other people who may have once been allies, but were randomly ostracized by an increasingly unhinged populace, then takes action to defend themselves and the conflagration deepens. One side wins. A new leader is then chosen, not based on meritocracy and what's good for all of the citizens, but based on a cult of personality. This leader usually emerges from the revolution as a military or quasi-religious leader, like a Stalin, Mao, Castro, Khomeni, Chavez, or Kim Jong. Then this leader works to intimidate the Congress to eliminate term limits and get him/herself elected to President for Life. Next, they intimidate the Judiciary, so that the lackeys in Congress who are doing the bidding of the Dictator are unable to have their laws overturned by Judges. Then they rewrite the Constitution. Then it is game over. The repression and horror has just begun.

These things all happen by degrees. It can't happen here, you say? It is already happening, if you just have the eyes to see it. I've seen it before. I'm seeing it again and it scares the shit out of me. It's not too late, but the liberals are accelerating the day of reckoning with all the unhinged hysteria and non-sense they are engendering. I am the voice of reason trying to roll back the tide and get all parties to engage in moderation, be more centrist, listen more to one another, read the lessons of history, pay attention to the facts, refuse to allow an unelected bureaucracy to overturn the will of the people, and refuse to take extremist positions. I don't believe I'll ever be GOP or DNC again. I am Independent/Unaffiliated now and I believe it is the only sane position to take. The two parties are enemies of the people as far as I am concerned, and so are the propaganda MSM channels that spew one sided non-sense. That is why I choose to get my news elsewhere and why I believe the evil of one party is equivalent to the evil of the other party.
