The dems had the America hating House the America hating Senate and a fresh new America hating Black president that had no intention on working with any possible road blocks in passing as much the new Obama Doctrine as possible.
Even though they had to pull the overstuffed dem playbook going back 60 plus years cuz the timing was just right.
