Owning a gun does not deprive others of these rights.

Context, again. The proposal to turn schools into bunkers is what I was addressing. This and other notions that impact the rights of others are being offered as an alternative to gun control by single-minded gun zealots. The single-mindedness of gun zealots is where I entered the conversation.
My initial question remains, 'what rights are being trumped by gun owners?'
Of course there is no harm whatsoever in guns being owned or in owners owning them. The guns reside quietly and innocuously in homes or in storage and do absolutely no damage as long as they are simply owned and owners are left to own them.

However, there can be effects on the rights of others when the owners act to ensure their continued ownership and utilization.
