The vast majority of mass shootings have not involved assault rifles. They have recently been used in several attacks, but they aren't no way essential. There have been many attacks including Vegas, where many weapons were available.

Remember, Oswald was a serious killer using a $20 mail order rifle, shooting at a fair distance, moving target, narrow time window, bolt action. He easily could have taken out 20 or more random people with that setup before being killed. Probably way more.

The idea that the AR15 is the problem is, to me, utterly stupid. We had these killings before they were used and will have them afterward.

And you're NOT going to get the owners of a significant fraction of these weapons to give them up. And the ones who do are not going to be the ones who need to give them up.

Essentially every point you made is wrong.
