Mindmeld, no one verbalized the position of today's liberals better than Bernie Sanders:

"You don't necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants or of 18 different pairs of sneakers when children are hungry in this country."

There you have it. Liberals want to regulate away the luxuries and the excesses of our economy in order to make sure no one is poor or needy. The only problem is that every effort in history to do that via government force has always ended in failure. Always.
