If you plan on using that pc for a while and lack of usb 3.0 is a bother you could try a pci card usb 3.0 adapter if there is a spare pci slot.

I used one in an old workstation rehab box years ago that only came with usb 2.0. Insofar as nearly all motherboards come standard with usb 3.0 or faster now, it may be a discontinued item but I'd gauge by if it has win10 drivers (if you plan to use it that long) and then how many ports you want on the card. In my experience these type of pci cards can be finicky but since it's for a soon to be redundant pc if it were me I'd look for as cheap as possible with win10 drivers and roll the dice. Haven't looked but shouldn't be more than $20, maybe $10 if you're lucky! ;-)
