Watch: Campaign Adviser Argues Gates Indictment Shows Investigation Has 'Nothing'

Republican campaign adviser and author Phillip Stutts argued on Fox News on Friday that the recent charges against former Trump campaign officials show that “there's really nothing there” in the Russia investigation, butting heads with a Democratic speechwriter who upheld the charges as significant warning signs for the Trump White House.

But Stutts and other critics of Mueller's approach to the issue argue that the charges against Trump associates so far are unrelated to their actions in the Trump campaign and predate Donald Trump's presidential run.

“They love to tease this, but there's nothing there,” Stutts said. “There's no evidence of anything.”
