I donate lots of money towards medical research and free health clinics. And I do appreciate the tax deductions, especially when I donate shares of stock, with long term capital gains. But I don't do it primarily for that reason. I know that's a difficult thing for you to grasp since everything revolves around tax breaks and dollars and cents for you.
