The GOP took control because Obama disappointed his progressive base and many sat out ensuing elections when their representatives and Senators went along with the President. It is always a question of priorities. This country can easily survive and thrive under single payer. If most of the rest of the world can do it and manage, so can the US. Why don't you tell me specifically why you think single payer wouldn't work here? What was returned to employees as a result of the tax cut was a small pittance in relation to what was received. Most of the money has been used or is going to be used for share buy backs.
