I was against the bank bailout too until I looked at all the other options. There were none. I even went so far as to tell family and friends we were heading into a Depression and there was nothing we could do about it. Then they came up with QE. I knew QE didn't work in Japan so wondered if it would work in the US. Then I watched. Within months it was obvious they stopped the collapse. We were lucky. Dems pushed for more spending while the gop wanted to cut spending. We did the right thing and saved the global economy. Europe cut spending and went back into recession. I don't see much hope for reform after SCOTUS gave the rich absolute power over who wins elections (Citizens United) but there are always glimmers of hope. These kids in Florida are impressive. I can honestly say they impress me more than any other in my lifetime. While they're only a small group they found their voices and they speak for a leaderless country. They're causing the NRA, republicans, and businesses to rethink their position on guns. It's a beginning. Give them power as soon as possible. They seem to have what it takes to make things happen.
