Just because you said so? Where is your basis to suggest that some absolute number of patents relating to any new idea is "impressive" vs "not impressive". Are you a patent expert now too? Do you have a breakdown across all the ideas that Apple has ever pursued with patents and whether Apple ever acted upon them to justify your use of the term impressive on some scale of number of patents is associated with some sort of predictability for utilization? I'm going to say I'm not even remotely impressed by the number but I will admit I'm no patent expert and that my impressions shouldn't be worth considering. Somehow I think you expect us to find your impressions more valuable without any shred of evidence that your background deserves it.
