I reject your thesis totally. The scientists are liberal and Democrats because they deal in facts reality and logic. You have turned it around and just made that up.

Educated people are generally more liberal than uneducated people. Just google a poll of university professors. 75% or so are liberal.

Business leaders are Republican because they are not educated in the humanities. That is also why they should not be leaders. They are unqualified. As Trump has proven.

His ideas of how to administer a just and happy society are nuts. Like arming teachers. That is nuts.

Well, I spent my life using statistics to test hypotheses. That is called the scientific method. I believe in global warming, largely because the global scientific community believes in it and I've read the statistics that convinced me of the same. However, I vote for Republicans periodically. Why? Because I have a whole host of issues I vote on. I hate what the GOP does to Planet Earth when they are in office. But I like their semi-capitalistic policies better than the socialist ones of the Dems. I also vote Dem when there is someone qualified, but I vote against Dem when someone is obviously a criminal like Hillary. There are plenty of scientists who vote all over the map, like I do. But I don't doubt your stats. My experience with scientists is that they are born and bred in the academic community, which is hyper liberal. If they aren't influenced to be left leaning after spending so many years in the academic community, then I'd be surprised. It's called conditioning. Academics have their own echo chamber, which invariably forms opinions.

For example, check out the stats for CEOs of businesses: 52% Republican, 17% Independent, 2% Democrat, and 29% declined to answer. So the majority are Republican. Why? Because they want what is best of the economy and for their businesses. Scientists are majority Democrat, because they get what they want from the Democratic party. It is really not any more complex than that. Oh and btw, CEOs are just as smart as scientists. So you can stop arguing about how scientists are so much smarter than the rest of us. That is not really true.
