Of course, manufacturing of vehicles may be moved offshore to avoid the tariffs." quite correct. and this is just the tip of the iceberg. many people do not understand how destructive tariffs are to our own economy. i'm glad you do. and as Tonto said, if this isn't a negotiating tactic and trump follows through, it's going to get bad in a number of ways. simply said, protectionism always damages economies. and it alway damages the imposer more than anyone else. this is a very dangerous path.
