Paul-

How does Intel benifit from the Intel/HP deal? I assume that they both split the R&D costs which supposedly now cost over $1 Billion (maybe even more for such a new design as the P7 is rumored to be).

Does HP currently own a Fab? And if so, what will they most likely do with it if Intel manufactures the P7 & HP discontinues their PA-RISC processor in favor of the P7?

As a side note, two fairly new books that may be good reads are:

1. "Only The Paranoid Survive" by Andrew S. Grove (that name sounds so familiar)

2. "The Death Of Competition" <forgot the authors name, sorry.>

The 2nd book, not so surprisingly, has a chapter on Intel as sort of a case study.
