Video goes viral of Bill Clinton admitting Democrats connection to KKK By Martin Walsh March 6th, 2018, 8:47 EST
Remember former President Bill Clinton defending a known racist and admitting Democrats joined the Ku Klux Klan for votes?
Conservative commentator and author Dinesh D’Souza does, and he reminded Americans about that with a tweet that has gone viral.
On Monday, D’Souza tweeted out a clip of Clinton speaking at late Sen. Robert Byrd’s funeral in 2010.
During his remarks, Clinton admitted the West Virginia Democrat was a Klan member. He also defended Byrd’s membership in the hate group by saying he was simply trying to get elected into office, according to The Hill.
Here’s what Clinton said about Byrd during his funeral in Charleston:
“They mention that he once had a fleeting association with the Ku Klux Klan, and what does that mean? I’ll tell you what it means. He was a country boy from the hills and hollows of West Virginia.”
“He was trying to get elected. And maybe he did something he shouldn’t have done, and he spent the rest of his life making it up. And that’s what a good person does. There are no perfect people. There certainly are no perfect politicians.”
Check out the video clip from D’Souza below, and listen to Clinton admit Democrats joined the KKK to get elected.
Only the Clintons would have the gall to defend a racist and downplay the severity of his connection to one of America’s worst hate groups.
Democrats were becoming Klansman — who terrorized, assaulted, and murdered African Americans — to help them get elected into public office.
As incredibly sad and pathetic as that is, many aren’t surprised given the Clintons will do and say anything to get elected.
D’Souza’s viral tweet also shows how the Democratic Party has a long history of exploiting groups, regardless of what they stand for, to garner votes.
