"they are glad there are decks stacked in favor of the Malay"

I have had several conversations relating to this unusual emotion. Both when I was here several years ago as a consultant and this time as full timer.

The first thing that struck me was how perceptive they were in insuring thier own security. I have always been bewildered by how "well" the differing ethnic groups manage to participate together in most activities. Politics seems to be of little importance to the average guy on the street. It seems to be Ho Hum whatever, just let me make my living, don't bother me, etc. What ever the dynamic is that makes this place work would be a huge export product if it were possible. These folks, while dealing with their own racial problems and biases, could teach some of our more "civilized" brethren how to live amicably.

On another note, am off to Penang for two days, will have my ears to the ground re. DD manufacturors.

Regards
