Re: APM chokes

Curses, I never got a chance to pick up another third of shorts!
Is that -0.78 from FC or Zacks?

All--check out some of the delightful prose from the APM release:

Operating losses were due primarily to a significant decrease in FQ198 shipments to the company's largest customer...

Duh, I wonder who that is.

Also, because of continued hard disk drive market oversupply, the company no longer anticipates a revenue rebound in FQ298, as was previously announced.

APM has been in business since 1957 ... this puts me in mind of the aphorism: "Some have 20 years of experience. Some have 1 year of experience repeated 20 times."

...planned shutdown of the company's manufacturing facility in Ireland.

The capacity contraction marches on.

...the gross margin in the first quarter of fiscal 1998 was a negative 9.5 percent...

Hoowah . . . !

Sales revenue beyond FQ298 will be heavily dependent on the successful qualification and production ramp of new MR programs that are currently under evaluation by the company and its customers.

Continued existence seems questionable at this point, a far cry from the giddy days of yesteryear.
