Those are some smart kids! Maybe they are right, maybe not. I've done my own research and have come to the conclusion that it is real. But this is one of those things where there's a lot of contradictory information out there. So a case can be made for either side. I think the years of touting the denial case by the oil industry did its damage.

It's like the Democrats of today. They are on a full court press to brainwash our kids on the greatness of Socialism. The Millennials are the result of that brainwashing and we will all pay the price for it. With global warming, we will all pay the price for it as well.

My view is like Pascal's Wager. Pascal said we should live and believe in God, because you only stand to lose a finite amount of earthly pleasures, but stand to gain infinite happiness, if Heaven exists. Whereas, if you do not believe in God and live immorally, then you will have to withstand infinite losses. I see the same thing with AGW. Why shouldn't we live as if this is the only planet we have and take care of it? Why shouldn't we move to more technologically advanced renewable energy supplies, which have the dual benefit of tapping limitless resources like the sun, wind, and thermal, versus continuing with the limited supply of fossil fuels that contribute to pollution of our air, water, and land? The benefits of moving to renewables far outweigh the costs, whereas, the totality of the costs of fossil fuels could very well be a destruction of our ability to live here.

Believing in AGW is a win win. We have nothing to lose, as long as we don't go crazy and sign up to shitty deals like the Paris Accord that was designed to impoverish Americans while subsidizing other polluting countries. I think the US should go it alone here and lead the way with a very focused, pervasive, and persistent push into new technologies that leverage renewable sources. We have very little to lose and everything to gain, including new and better jobs.
