The fact is that a lot of LNG has been coming into the US for years, and the importers are simply trading it (in storage as liquid) and re-exporting when prices are favorable. Remember that almost every single LNG export terminal (working or under construction/proposed) used to be an import terminal first. The only real downside is the steady vampire loss effect of the boil-off, which continues as long as it is in liquid form...
