The social contract that was entered into with the taxpayers when first SS, and later Medicare, were enacted, is that the taxes to pay for these programs would be paid ONLY on a small amount of wages and NEVER on unearned income.

We have since massively increased both the tax rate and the wage bases for both of these failed social programs. And now you want to expand it to gross income generally in a futile effort to cover ever expanding expenditures that are well beyond ANYONE's vision as of the enactment dates.

And that money is NOT being escrowed for the people paying it, you want to spend it on current retirees.

These programs are over. They are broke. They are not getting any better because there is no money and younger taxpayers would be nuts to pay into programs that give them nothing at all. Some of the future generations are idiots but not all.
