When I say, I believe in AGW, more specifically what I mean is that based on the reading I've done, the statistics I've seen, and the scientific consensus, there is a high probability that humans are causing an acceleration in negative climate impacts on the planet from the pollution we spew out.
As I've said before, if we do something to make our planet cleaner and move to renewables, we lose nothing, but have a world to gain. If we do nothing, then either we have a world to lose if AGW is true, or if it is not true, at least we save millions of lives from lower asthma and cancer risks that come from pollution.
So since you are an engineer, then you must know of Pascal's Wager on God, Heaven and Hell. We might as well believe, because the benefits of believing far outweigh the costs whether AGW is true or not. |
