If you want to discuss terminology, I don’t consider taxes to be wealth redistribution. I consider taxes to be dues necessary to keep the trains running on time, keep our citizens well educated, etc...just like our Constitution says.
According to Koan, only taxes on the rich matter when it comes to all of that.

And according to you, FICA taxes shouldn't count because none of that money goes toward any of those services you mentioned above.

Just because the general budget has been raiding the SS "lockbox" for some time now doesn't make what I said invalid. All it means is that the "lockbox" funds are in the form of Treasury bonds. We're still on the hook to pay SS benefits with FICA taxes alone.
