Description:
Hoping to please commuters and construction workers, Ontro has designed a
self-heating container for liquids. The disposable, self-heating container looks
similar to a standard 16 oz. beverage can, but pressing a button on the bottom
warms up to 10 ounces of coffee, soup, or other liquid through a chemical
reaction in a neighboring chamber. Ontro plans to sublicense its technology to
major food, beverage, and container manufacturers who would then make,
label, fill, and sell the containers under their own brand names. The company
has signed a distribution agreement with specialty products maker
Knickerbocker to sell a line of self-heating products on TV.
