As you say, taxes are an odious burden on the rich, a negative. Then cutting the taxes on the rich would make them richer.
That can't be. You said it yourself. Taxes are NOT "wealth redistribution," so cutting it should have absolutely NO effect on whether the rich get richer.
Of course like any good Republican you can appeal to the trickle down theory of economics, which by now 2018 has been shown to be a joke.
So-called "trickle-down economics" has led to the longest period of economic expansion in the history of America, beginning in the 1980's with Reagan. Even The Great Recession of 2008 couldn't wreck the foundations of the economy.

If you want to return to the stagflation of the 1970s, be my guest.
